On this weeks podcast, Michelle is joined by her good friend from Canada - Stephen Klimosko. Stephen is a well travelled Disney fan; having visited both Walt Disney World and Disneyland and he also is well known for his amazing portrayal of Walt Disney as a guest at Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. However, on todays show he will be reviewing his VIP tour of the Walt Disney Studios in Burbank and you will be stunned by the details he shares.

As Stephen arrived at Walt Disney Studios, he had no idea of the many surprises his tour guide (Drew Hayashida) had laid on for the day ahead. Whilst he had been to the studios before, he had not seen some of the delights he saw on this trip. First, lets look around the Old Animation Building.

On the podcast, Stephen details some of the items in the display cases he saw.
Then began the highlight of the tour - a visit to Suite 3H, which is otherwise known as Walt's Office! But first, there was the matter of pre-secretary then secretary and then the discovery that Walt had a meeting office and also a work office!

The tour continued and along the way there were many many highlights and below are some of the sights Stephen enjoyed.

Bad news - the shop is being refurbished. However, the good news is a new kiosk will pop up and enable us all to keep on buying our favourite Norwegian treats - including the school bread. It is due to open up this Summer and will be bigger and brighter than ever before!

Rose Gold Cupcake
Over at The Land Pavilion you can buy a cupcake themed to the much sought after gold ears. Packed with vanilla butter cream this cupcake is selling like hot cakes. However is it a question of style over substance as we feel the flavourings are a little bland with it being a vanilla and marbled chocolate cake with vanilla butter cream. I guess the only answer is to buy one whilst they are available and find out for yourself!

We said farewell to Screamin' but you can keep on enjoying it as here is our very own front row video!
Lots of changes are coming to this part of Disney California Adventure - some this Summer and some a little later. On the show we discuss the proposed new logo and its reaction on Social Media.

Replacing the trolly tracks in Disneyland is making Main Street a real bottle neck. However, I like the information notices they put up on the construction walls.

Disney Dream Girls 191 - Disneyland Trip Report

Welcome to the show notes for the Disney Dream Girls podcast for show number 191 aired on Sunday 7th January 2018. If you wish to listen to the podcast, whilst reading this blog, all you have to do is click on the audio player below. Alternatively, our podcast can be found in most places that host podcasts such as iTunes (click here to subscribe) and Stitcher Radio.

Todays show reviews Michelle's Disneyland Christmas trip. Have you ever been to a Disney park at Christmas? Or are you planning at future trip? Well you will need to listen to this weeks show with lots of top tips on how to get the best out of the theme parks at the busiest and merriest time of the year.
First thing to understand is that the parks are busy however, if you do your research it is quite easy to get in 15+ attractions a day! Some of our top tips are:
  • Arrive at least 30 minutes prior to park opening to get through security and be in line at the entrance.
  • Use Fastpasses.
  • Have a plan of which attractions you want to hit - e.g. Michelle went to Space Mountain for a fastpass and then onto Peter Pan as both of these attractions are incredibly busy.
  • Ride Its a Small World in the morning but visit in the evening to admire the exterior.
  • Queues for quick service food at peak times can be 30 minutes so avoid these  times.
  • Plan to watch shows later in the day.

The highlights of the trip included the cinnamon scented snowfall (always a seasonal favourite), enjoying the stunning Christmas decorations plus riding the Christmas themed attractions and the amazing seasonal Christmas food.
On this trip, I was really pleased to have done two attractions that I had previously ignored - namely the treehouse and the canoes. Lots of fun and I am now pleased to say I have ridden every Disneyland attraction!

We hope you enjoyed the show, and we will be back with more Disney musings next week! Why not listen to our weekly Disney theme parks podcast?
