Welcome to the show notes for the Disney Dream Girls podcast for show number 173 for Sunday 20th August 2017. If you wish to listen to the podcast, whilst reading this blog, all you have to do is click on the audio player below. Alternatively, our podcast can be found in most places that host podcasts such as iTunes (click here to subscribe) and Stitcher Radio.

Coming up on todays show, Michelle is joined by James H Carter II to talk not only about the Foolish Mortals documentary he and Ryan Gulich have made but also how he would turn the America Pavilion into something creepier and patriotic.

Foolish Mortals Documentary
Our good friend James loves the creepier side of Disney and one of his favourite attractions in the Disney theme parks is The Haunted Mansion. Over the past year, he has been busily making a documentary that focuses on the fan culture surrounding Disney's Haunted Mansion. Find out more by watching the trailer below.

The world premiere took place earlier this year in Anaheim, California but there will also be a showing in Orlando between 22nd to 24th September 2017.

On the show, James shares details about some of the people he met whilst filming from fans to imagineer Rolly Crump. He even discusses the involvement of our good friend Terri Hardin.

Recording segment with Rolly Crump

After our discussion about Foolish Mortals, we move on to re-theming the America pavilion at EPCOT. James decided it should be claimed as the American princesses home - namely Tiana and it should boast an attraction with Friends on the Otherside. I must admit, it does sound amazing!

Disney Dream Girls 131 - Positively Full of Disney

Welcome to the show notes for the Disney Dream Girls Podcast, show number 131, for Sunday 30th October 2016. As always, if you wish to listen now, whilst looking at these pictures, click on the player below.

Amongst our Disney musings on this weeks show, we include a look ahead to the 25th celebrations that Disney are planning for Disneyland Paris. They have tag lined the year as 'Time to Sparkle' and we can't wait to see some of the upcoming shows and events. Plus it will also see an end to the ride refurbishments that DLP attendees have been tolerating recently, as management get the park ready for the celebrations.

As it is a Halloween show, we have a murder mystery for you also! Do you know the mystery surrounding the deaths of the Dread family at Walt Disney World's Haunted Mansion? Well you will certainly want to listen to find out!

We also have a mini review, from Michelle, of the concert she attended at the Royal Albert Hall  - entitled Disney's Broadway Hits. This was a sensational evening of musical entertainment with stars of the shows performing along with the BBC Concert Orchestra. The cherry on the cake was an appearance by Alan Menken himself!

If you wish to hear some of the recordings, you can click on this link. But we believe it will be televised sometime around December 2016.

Michelle's Copy of the Kimberley's Book

Then we move on our main feature, and we were luckily introduced to the author Kimberley Bouchard by our amazing friend (and listener) Becky Manion. Kimberley has written a book containing an wonderful array of stories showcasing the impact that Disney has had on peoples lives. From guests to cast members, she retells their powerful and heartwarming stories.  Fortunately for us, she shares one or two of them with us for you to enjoy. But it doesn't end there, she is currently writing the second book, in the series, with further fabulous stories. The book is available in a multitude of places, but we have included the link to Amazon if you wish to buy it.

Both of us agree it would make a fabulous gift for any Disney loving fan. Click this link to buy Positively Disney: Heartwarming Stories about Disney's Impact on People's Lives by Kimberley Bouchard from Amazon.
