Welcome to the show notes for the Disney Dream Girls podcast for show number 147 for Sunday 26th February 2017. As always, if you wish to listen to the podcast, whilst reading this blog, you can click on the player below.

So today we start the show talking about the newly opened Red Rose Taverne. We have a detailed blog post about this that you can read by clicking this link Red Rose Taverne.

Then we move on to discuss some items of the news that interested us from Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo opening in park (21st April 2017) in Tokyo Disneyland to Sip Savour and Sparkle upcharged dining option for Wishes at The California Grill (starting 26th February 2017).

Next, we move to our main feature - The Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple of the Forbidden Eye. Here we discuss a little about the attractions history, some fun facts and we have our friend James H Carter II (from the Creepy Kingdom Podcast) give his input on the attraction. To sum up James's thoughts - it is one of the reasons you must go to Disneyland!

If you want to watch a behind the scenes walk through of the Indiana Jones attraction - click on this link Indy Ride Walk Through.

The Red Rose Taverne, Fantasyland in Disneyland, Anaheim

As a limited time magic experience, the Village Haus counter service in Disneyland has been transformed in to a Beauty and The Beast inspired eatery - namely the Red Rose Taverne.

Despite Jayne and I being over 4,500 miles away, we had to find out more to share with you all. So thanks to our wonderful friend in California, Tiffany Clontz, we are able to bring you pictures of the menu, some of the items on the menu and the interior. In addition, on our podcast 147 (released on Sunday 26th February 2017) we will be discussing this further.
Firstly, the menu. My personal favourite - the pastrami burger - has gone but it has been replaced with a very meatilicious Beast's burger. The fries served with it are identical to the ones offered at Cafe Orleans.

Jayne fancies the Enchanted Cauli-flower sandwich with the tempura green beans. The steak is a thick cut of the vegetable and if you opt to go minus the bun, this will be a paleo dieters delight - if you ignore the tempura and mayo!
Another favourite from the Village Haus for me has been their flatbreads... well there's plenty to choose, from including a version that is Poutinesq - ala fries!
But wait I hear you cry... we want the Grey Stuff (we've been told it is delicious!) well no need to worry, it is available! Tiffany really enjoyed it. Personally, I love the fact it is different to the version offered in Walt Disney World at The Be Our Guest Restaurant. Plus who doesn't love Red Velvet cake!
Various non-alcoholic drinks are available and you can purchase Gaston's brew. For an $8 upcharge, you can get it served in a souvenir stein. Additionally, there are rice crispy treats and Be Our Guest items to purchase.
So now we have whetted your appetites but what is the interior like? Well as the name suggests, it no longer is the Village Haus but a tavern right out of Beauty and The Beast - namely The Red Rose Tavern. I am led to believe, everything added is removable as it will return to the Village Haus.
The wall murals are stunning and in addition, the main characters get a subtly done shelf and of course Gaston had to 'man' it up a little with some of his hunting trophies!
So what are you waiting for? Official opening is today - 24th February 2017.

On every trip, Tracey loves to start and end on Spaceship Earth. For her, it is one of those attractions that is perfection, relaxation and jaw-dropping everytime. So she tends to spend at least two days in EPCOT and another must is Illuminations.

As as well visiting with her family, Tracey has made some trips with her Mum. In the future she is planning a girls trip (for a special birthday) and she is hoping to tie it in with a Run Disney event too!

Disney Dream Girls 144 - Hong Kong Disneyland Trip Review

Welcome to the show notes for the Disney Dream Girls podcast for show number 144 for Sunday 5th February 2017. As always, if you wish to listen to the podcast, whilst reading this blog, you can click on the player below.

We welcome back to the podcast Kat and Lewis and they share their trip to Hong Kong Disneyland. If you missed their review of Shanghai Disneyland, please go back and listen to show 141 dated 15th January 2017.

They started their adventure in Hong Kong by visiting Ocean Park. They both were impressed by the animal interactions offered and said it was a fun day out but urge that you do the tram attraction first as the lines later in the day get very long! A highlight for them both was having lunch with views of the penguins.

After a few days doing other tourist things, they move on to checking in to the Disneyland Hotel. But first they made a journey on a very special train! The trains handrails are Mickey shaped and so are the windows!

Once at the Disneyland Hotel, they checked in for their club level reservation and from the view alone it was well worth the money. The hotel is a ten minute leisurely stroll to the park with the Hollywood Hotel being a further ten minutes. Transport is also available.

On the podcast, Kat and Lewis go through their schedule day by day detailing which attractions they went on, as well as giving out some top tips.

Something they were very impressed by was the food. Whilst they ate at counter service locations, they both praise the quality of the food. Below is a picture of the curries they had at the Explorers Club.

They spent three days in total at Hong Kong Disneyland and advise that amount of time will give you sufficient time to cover the park at a leisurely pace. They plan to go back in April, when they visit the two Disney parks in Tokyo - the only Disney parks they have not been to!
