Show 64 - The 3 of Emotionally Us Inside Out

Hello and welcome to the show notes for the Disney Dream Girls Podcast for Sunday 27th  September 2015.  To listen to the show, we can be subscribed to via iTunes, Stitcher Radio of any podcast catching places. In addition, you can listen direct using this direct player.

Disney Feelings
For tomorrow Earvengers, we share a segment about the various feelings you can have whilst in the park and we based these on the 5 emotions of the Disney animated film, Inside Out. This went really well so I wanted to expand on it and then to ask my fellow Dream Girls. We discuss three of these emotions on the show.

If you are to believe Robert Plutchik's psychoevolutionary theory of emotion he says there are eight primary emotions:

Fear feeling afraid. Other words are terror (strong fear), shock, phobia
Anger feeling angry. A stronger word is rage.
Sadness feeling sad. Other words are sorrow, grief (a stronger feeling, for example when someone has died) or depression (feeling sad for a long time). Some people think depression is a different emotion.
Joy feeling happy. Other words are happiness, gladness.
Disgust feeling something is wrong or dirty
Trust a positive emotion; admiration is stronger; acceptance is weaker
Anticipation in the sense of looking forward positively to something which is going to happen. Expectation is more neutral.
Surprise how one feels when something unexpected happens.

EPCOT Food and Wine Festival
Nobody does food like the Disney Food Blog and they have a fabulous review of the Festival offerings, so why not visit Disney Food Blog. We will look closer on the next show with a very special guest.

Finally, we opened the mail bag and answered a few questions.

We will be back with the next set of show notes, next Sunday, 4th October 2015.

    Star Wars Weekends
Our first item was brought to our attention by WDW News Today and it was the rumour that Star Wars Weekends will be culled.

The weekends began in 1997 and perhaps, with the new offerings, it will be removed due to the upcoming season of the force (starting Jan 2016). This sees Hyperspace Mountain at Disneyland and Star Wars fireworks at Disney Hollywood Studios. Before that, in December, co-inciding with the movie opening Star Tours: The Adventures Continue new adventure and the Star Wars Launch Bay will open. Along with this rumour, the possibility of Disney characters no longer appearing in the role of Star Wars characters.

    Show 062 - Tokyo Talking

Hello and welcome to the show notes for the Disney Dream Girls podcast, show number 062. On this show, we are joined by Patricia and Chris from the TDR Explorer Podcast and website to talk us through visiting the Disney theme parks in Tokyo.

Firstly, we discussed the location of the parks and their proximity to each other. As they are near to each other, with entrances back to back, a little walking will be required.

Then we chat about the different places to stay, the old favourite - on site or off site.  Your choice will be determined by your budget. We discuss the various compromises and the amazing transport links that may enable you to stay a little further out from the parks and save you Yen!
    Disneyland Hotel

Disneyland have a trio of 'onsite' hotels. Tokyo Disneyland Hotel, Disney Ambassador Hotel and Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta. The next 'tier' of hotels are the Tokyo Disney Resort Official Hotels, which there are five. Then there are the Tokyo Disney Resort Partner Hotels and again there are five of these. The final section is the Good Neighbor Hotels, to which there are twelve. Obviously, you can choose and book one of the many other hotels in the area. I suggest a visit to the Disney website to compare the benefits of these hotels -Disneyland hotel comparison

Then, we look at ticket prices and we are happy to report that the prices aren't that bad. The day ticket is one of the cheapest Disney park tickets and Chris and Patricia both said a four day ticket should be sufficient but for a more thorough experience you can always add extra days.

Our next topic was running through the attractions for both parks. There are some old favourites but also some very unique attractions to enjoy. Out of the two parks, Patricia urges, if you had just one day, go to Disney TokyoSea because of its stunning theming and its utter uniqueness.

Then of course we have to talk food! There are plenty of options if you are a fussy eater, you can find burgers, fried chicken and pizza. However, there are lots of other options available if you are more adventurous. Chris absolutely loves the Gyoza dog, which is frequently changed to match the different seasons.
