417 - EPCOT's International Food and Wine Festival

On this week's show, we look ahead to the Epcot Food and Wine Festival. As Michelle will be visiting, she shares what she will be trying and Jayne makes some suggestions too (although there was a bit of a heated debate over a few items!).

Jayne's List

Starting in Australia and with something that Michelle will adore we have the lamington; yellow cake with raspberry filling dipped in chocolate and coconut...mmm.

Next, we head to Brew Wing but not for the wings but instead the crispy Brussel Sprouts with buffalo sauce.

A new offering this year is The Fry Basket and the Fry Flight sounds amazing! It is a trio of sea salt and malt vinegar fries, barbecued bacon fries with smoked aïoli and Sweet potato casserole fries with candied pecans, toasted marshmallow cream and caramel whisky.  

And all to be washed down with a Salty Dog Cocktail: Boyd & Blair Vodka with grapefruit juice, ginger, simple syrup, and lime with a salted rim!

The one item Michelle may not be took keen on though was the SPAM Musubi Nigiri with sushi rice, teriyaki-glazed SPAM, spicy mayonnaise, eel sauce, and nori from Hawai'i. Although the AULANI Sunrise: Vodka, DOLE pineapple juice, and grenadine may make it bearable.

There were a few more items suggested by Jayne that may or may not have been to Michelle's liking so you'll have to listen to find out more.

Michelle's List 

So many delicious things! But I had to try to keep it to a minimum!

From the Alps, I am going for the warm raclette swiss cheese with Riesling-poached pears, red wine-braised figs, candied pecans, honey and cranberry toast. 

Then, to Canada for their delicious cheddar and bacon soup with also the wild mushroom filet mignon - mmm.

I had to include something from France so how about a beignet with three warm cheeses? 

For dessert we both agreed on the mini Pina Colada funnel cake.
