On todays show, Michelle and Jayne look at some items of news that caught their eye and they give a reminder that on show 127 our listener Katie Mason (who ran the inaugural Disneyland Paris Half Marathon) kindly donated a prize of a celebratory Run Disney keyring. So if you want to win this amazing prize - give show 127 (last week) a listen to find out how!
The 9th October 2016 saw the very last performances of the Main Street Electrical Parade in the Magic Kingdom. This iconic parade debuted in 1972 at Disneyland It was created by Bob Jani and the project director was Ron Miziker. Fear not, there are still chances to see the parade as it is 'going home' to Disneyland before it totally goes away.
To honour this parade we spoke with Disney historian and author - Jim Korkis and take great delight to share his musings about the parades origins. For those of you who are not aware of Jim, he is the author of the Vault of Walt series of books. But he has written many more and we urge you, if you are a Disney history fan, to read them.
