Disney Dream Girls 134 - Disney Mail and News

Welcome to the show notes for the Disney Dream Girls podcast for, show number 134, Sunday 20th November 2016. As always, if you wish to listen to the podcast, whilst reading this blog, you can click on the player below.

On this weeks show we discuss a few snippets of news that we found interesting. These included the possibility of Disneyland Paris introducing somewhere for people to attach their own love locks in the park. What do you think about this idea? Why not get in touch and let us know your thoughts - our email address is info@disneydreamgirls.com

Another news item was the preview pictures of the new style Magic Band with their removable 'pucks'. I must admit, I really like the key ring idea - much safer!

Moving away from the news, a couple of listeners got in touch with reviews. One for PizzeRizzo and the other for the Jingle Bam Dessert Party at Disney Hollywood Studios. If you ever want to share your experiences from your Disney trips please get in touch!

You all know my thoughts on dessert parties. Whilst the food is mostly delicious, the $69 ticket is a little steep and for a hard ticket event it is unacceptable to be crammed into a small courtyard. However, if your time is limited, you can take advantage of the alcoholic beverages and have a healthy appetite - go for it and book it!

Disney Dream Girls 133 - Disney Cruise LIne Trip Review

Welcome to the show notes for the Disney Dream Girls podcast for, show number 133, Sunday 13th November 2016. As always, if you wish to listen to the podcast, whilst reading this blog, you can click on the player below.

On this show, we discuss a few items of news and then we are joined by our guest, Dave Tupper, to talk about some of his experiences on the Disney Cruise Line.

The Disney Cruise Line was founded on 6th February 1996 and currently has four ships (The Wonder, Magic, Dream and Fantasy) with two further vessels due in the coming years. Additionally, the company owns its own private island, called Castaway Cay.

On the show, Dave shares his experiences about his Alaskan and Carribean cruises.  He speaks about: the delicious dining; his experiences on taking one of the excursions; the entertainment; his love of Castaway Cay and lots more. Guess you will have to listen to find out all his top tips!

It is clear that to Dave and his family, Disney cruises offer them the ability to have quality family time together but peace of mind when their daughter would be well looked after when attending one of the kids club.

A favourite dining location was Animators Palate. The eateries slightly differ ship to ship but Dave was highly complementary on them all. Disney, was the first Cruise Line company to introduce the idea of rotational dining, where the key team of servers moved to the different dining locations with their guests; to ensure excellent service.

Dave was a fabulous guest and we can't wait to have him back on the podcast to talk about his travels and also about Aulani!

Disneyland Paris Trip Review

Welcome to the this post from the Disney Dream Girls podcast for, number 132, Sunday 6th November 2016. As always, if you wish to listen to our audio content, whilst reading this blog, you can click on the player below.

On this show, we discuss three fun news items and then Michelle reviews her trip to Disneyland Paris.

My Shortened Trip Review!

Food
Disneyland Paris has some hidden gems that you really have to try. On this trip, I ate at Chez Remy. In my opinion this is a great place for a delicious steak meal: served with the house speciality - ratatouille. However, due to a fire alarm, I was unable to eat my whole meal, however I will be back in 2017 to eat there again!

For counter service, I really was surprised by the food within Videopolis at Cafe Hyperion. It is themed to Star Wars and the burger quality was really good (total surprise) and the cupcake was a delicious chocolate rich treat.

Character Meets
Disneyland Paris is a great place to meet characters. During my trip I met a range of characters. As it was a few days prior to Halloween, there were a lot of villains to meet and I was impressed that I didn't need to buy an dining package or special event ticket either.

General Information
The park does get some incredible theming upgrades for the different seasons. My favourite was this thorny dragon: Maleficient had her meet and greet by this.
Whilst this trip was definately memorable, it was not without its issues. Having a knee injury, I had to use a wheelchair but on the whole, I found the park to be wheelchair friendly.

Competition
On our Facebook page, we are running a giveaway for a Disneyland Paris Christmas  pin. All you have to do is find the lead post, then share a Christmas in the parks picture with a description... then you could win one!
