599 The Disney Dream Girls

Welcome to the show for the Disney Dream Girls Podcast - show number 599 for Sunday 14th June 2026.

As always, if you wish to listen to the podcast direct - click the player below.
On this week's show, we discuss some amazing ways you can save literally hundreds of dollars on your hotel accommodation. Additionally, Michelle's grandson joins the show for his trip report from their DLP trip.

Using A DVC Rental Service

We would never recommend a service we haven't used before so as Michelle has used David's Vacation Club Rental before, that is the company we contacted for some top tips.

To find out more, visit David's Vacation Club Rental

Booking at Swan and Dolphin

This Marriot hotel is another location that Michelle has stayed at before and will be staying at in August 2026. To find out more, visit Swan and Dolphin

Again - both of the above companies are promoted here without any financial gain for us. It is purely us acknowledging their service having used them before for holiday bookings.

That's it for this week!

We do have a Patreon Page and if you would like to drop us a $1 a month (or more) it would really help us with the running costs. This also keeps our show from having to add adverts in order to keep the show up and running. Supporters from $5 or above get additional podcast content - exclusively just for them.

Finally, we encourage you to follow (and interact with) us on our our socials - @disdreamgirls our email address is info@disneydreamgirls.com and join us as on our Facebook Page - Disney Dream Girls Podcast Family.

276 - Jayne's Disneyland Paris Trip Report

Welcome to the show notes for the Disney Dream Girls Podcast, show number 276 for Sunday 8th September 2019.  If you want to listen, whilst reading these notes, just click the player below or alternatively find us in iTunesLibsyn, on Stitcher Radio or via any good podcast catching app.

On this week's show, Jayne reviews her families trip to Disneyland Paris.

Considering where to stay, Jayne reviewed the points that made her choose to stay at Disney's Hotel Cheyenne. For Jayne there were a number of factors making this an ideal choice including the theming, the relatively recent refurb, the on-site Starbucks and of course cost played a big factor...plus a bit of sentimentality.

Kicking the morning off with a good coffee!
Then, she discusses the amenities within the room which as Disney fans we all know is a really key point! Jayne was pleasantly surprised to find that along with a fixed dispenser there were also the small bottles and bars of soap which were replaced each day of her stay after they had been 'removed'!!
Then, Jayne moved on to talking about the attractions and things she enjoyed whilst in the parks. This trip was very much about spending time together as a family for Jayne and getting that much needed dose of all things Disney!

They were happy to simply experience as much as they could whilst not spending inordinate amounts of time in queues! DLP still operates the 'old style' Fastpass system and while this was used during their trip they also adopted a policy of only joining queues with a wait time of no more than 45 or 50 minutes.

Jayne was able to enjoy the newly refurbished Phantom Manor, multiple rides on Big Thunder Mountain (probably the best BTM in Jayne's opinion), Pirates of the Caribbean, Buzz Lightyear, It's A Small World, Star Tours (of course!), Ratatouille and lots more.

Finally after a number of missed opportunities on previous trips along with a lot of persuasion she rode Crush's Coaster. Now as we know Jayne is not a lover of thrill rides so just what did she think to this experience?

There were some rides and shows that they did not get to experience due to the long wait times but this in no way distracted from their enjoyment.

After that, she discussed her thoughts on the food options - considering that Jayne's dietary lifestyle is based around a low carbohydrate/keto eating plan. Jayne knew that food was always going to be a tricky one and this proved to be the case plus the poor exchange rate at the moment didn't help as the costs were rather high as well. Thankfully Earl of Sandwich proved to be not only great value but also offered the choice that Jayne and her family needed.

Food within the parks was restrictive for Jayne especially as they were sticking to counter service options. In DLP these focus heavily on 'set menus' and it was only by chance that she discovered ordering 'a la carte' was possible which made options a little easier but still quite restrictive, and repetitive.

But all in all Jayne and her family had a great time and suffice to say this has reinvigorated Jayne's desire to get back out and experience more of what Disney has to offer.

Michelle told Kat and Lewis that she would be getting her wedding cake from Amorettes at Disney Springs (no surprise there then) so they challenged her to try out the pink and blue champagne with Mickey head toppers.

Four Parks In One Day
On last week's show, Michelle revealed her plan to visit four parks in one day and Len Testa gave her some tips to accomplish this. However, today, Michelle reveals the challenge she will actually try to do.

Lewis wants Michelle to take a ride on the newest form of Disney transportation and if it is up and running - watch out for a Facebook Live!

Which Hard Ticket Event Is Right For Me?
On the show, we discuss the options available if you wish to pay the extra dollars to attend one of the hard ticket events. These are ideal if your time is short and you want to gain extra park time. For the Magic Kingdom you have the option of early mornings or late nights. However, on the show we discuss the option of checking the park calendar to gain late night access to the park - for free! Some select nights you will find the Magic Kingdom open to 11pm or 12 midnight.
There is also the evening Disney Animal Kingdom event (this costs $125) and also the much anticipated Villains event, which is $139.

Disneyland Update
We then move on to discussing Disneyland.  We comment about the construction walls, how cast members have been blocked from park entry on their off days May through August and that the Food and Wine event is rolling onwards through April. Plus if you visit prior to Easter, you will be able to meet Mr Bunny himself!

Disney Dream Girls 248 Planning for Disneyland

Welcome to the show notes for the Disney Dream Girls Podcast, show number 248 for Sunday 17th February 2019.  If you want to listen, whilst reading these notes, just click the player below or alternatively find us in iTunes, Libsyn, on Stitcher Radio or via any good podcast catching app.

On this weeks show, Michelle is joined by a person who she affectionately calls her Dopey to her Snow White - Thomas.
Together, they chat through the planning process they undergo before planning a trip to Disneyland.

So firstly - when? Michelle being a teacher limits the choice but they decide the break over the Christmas period.
Next consideration - where to stay? Tom would splurge and book a room at the Grand California but with the majority of time being spent in the parks - Michelle argues the case of saving an approximate astonishing $4,000 to stay at the Hilton.
With a five day park hopper to purchase, the duo are almost ready to book but before they do, they talk through some of the unique or slightly different rides and attractions they will be able to enjoy.

Of course, no trip to Disneyland is complete without trying out some of the delicious food?
