537 The Disney Dream Girls

Welcome to the show for the Disney Dream Girls Podcast - show number 537 for Sunday 16th February 2025.

On this week's podcast, Michelle and Jayne discuss some Disney-based news and as always, if you wish to listen right now - click the player below.

Food... yes we love to talk some food so as well as our usual Disney chat we look ahead to this year's Flower and Garden Festival. Do you have any recommendations for Jayne to try whilst she is there?

Flower and Garden Festival 2025

Jayne's mantra needs to be - If it's under eight - make it a date. If it's over eight - show it the gate!

Below are some of the delicious offerings we discuss.

Avocado Toast
Shrinkflation - Straberry Shortcake
Liquid Nitro Honey Marscarpone Cheesecake

To keep things in balance, we had to talk a bit about the merchandise.

Please get in touch with your top top tips once the 2025 menus are released!

446 The Disney Dream Girls

Welcome to this week's Disney Dream Girls Podcast - show number 446 for Sunday 12th March 2023.

If you would like to ensure you never miss a show, please subscribe to us via your podcast catching place or alternatively you can listen in using the audio player below.

On this week's show, we chat some Disney news, history and then head off to the Flower and Garden Festival.

What do you think Michelle should try on her trip? Jayne made a list of five items she though Michelle would like, these were:

1. Waffle cone with soft serve black grape jelly and peanut butter from the Refreshment Port,

2. Orange Bird Liege Waffle from Connections Eatery,

3. Bananas Foster Bread Pudding from Magnolia Terrace,

4. Citrus Baked Brie from The Citrus Blossom (Odyssey Pavillion),

5. Orange-Blossom Saffron Cake from Tangerine Cafe-Flavors of the Medina.

Michelle had to add one or two extras including:

The chicken and waffle dish from Honey Beestro,

The creme brulee beignet from Fleur de Lys,

The strawberry shortcake from Florida Fresh.

The big question being - should Michelle try the hummus trio?

396 Where to Savour not Shovel When in a Disney Theme Park

Welcome to the Disney Dream Girls Podcast, show number 396 for Sunday 13th February 2022. If you want to listen right now via this page - just click on the audio player below.

However, to ensure you never miss a show make sure you subscribe to us in your favourite podcast catching app. Flower and Garden Festival

Toparies, displays and garden, outdoor kitchens and of course the Concert Rocks concert series.

Characters are still meeting physically distanced
On the show, we look at the four dining packages that will enable you to have a delicious meal and access to a concert. We discuss whether it is a worthwhile investment. What do you think? Would you go with a dining package to avoid the queues?

Over in Disneyland Paris, there are two eateries re-opening! This is very exciting for DLP guests as it is giving options at either end of the price point scale.

Walt's An American Restaurant - high end eatery, with six beautiful themed rooms. A must get is a window seat for the Main Street views.

Toad Hall Restaurant - quick and suits most! This quick service is coming back with a tofish option also. My top tip is a serving of their chips (what our American friends would refer to as steak fries).

That's about it for this week! But you can always keep in touch with us via our social media channels.

355 The Trip - Walt Disney World March 2021

Welcome to the show notes for the Disney Dream Girls Podcast, show number 355, for Sunday 21st March 2021.

If you want to listen, whilst reading these notes, just click the player below or alternatively find us on iTunes, Libsyn, Stitcher Radio, or any good podcast catching apps.

On this week's podcast, we are joined by our very good friend - Anthony Markham - as he shares details of his recent Walt Disney World trip.

Anthony drove from North Carolina and met his friend Josh there. They choose to stay at Pop Century and found the resort to be working well and did not find any issues with thee room nor transportation.

Anthony split his time so that he could visit each park once and managed a half day trip also to Disney's Hollywood Studios. He was there just before Flower and Garden began so benefitted from the lighter crowds as well as being able to admire the beautiful toparies.

EPCOT looked stunning but alas no food booths were open and neither was the much anticipated Remy's Ratatouille Adventure.

Anthony managed to partake in a range of delicious foods and highly praised the new plant based Loco Moco at Kona Cafe, whilst Josh tucked into the sampler platter.

We will be sharing more pictures from Anthony's trip over on our instagram page this week.

That's about it for this week - we hope you enjoy the show and we will be back next week for some more Disney chatter.

Disney Dream Girls 250 - Festival Food & Chat

Welcome to the show notes for the Disney Dream Girls Podcast, show number 250 for Sunday 3rd March 2019.  If you want to listen, whilst reading these notes, just click the player below or alternatively find us in iTunesLibsyn, on Stitcher Radio or via any good podcast catching app.

This week we take a quick look at the changes coming to Epcot's entrance with the announced removal of the Leave a Legacy monoliths and plans to transform the existing area.

We then look forward to this years Flower & Garden Festival. This years event will run from 6th March through to 3rd June. In addition to all the delicious food, there are seminars, events as well as nightly music rocks concerts.

So moving to the good stuff - the food. We take an alphabetical stroll through some of this years offerings and raise the question which do you prefer Flower & Garden or Food & Wine?

Both girls liked the sound of the Mickey Tart from the Flavourful Kitchen; a peanut butter mousse with strawberry jam and boba pearls. However, for those that prefer the slightly lighter food options there are lots of other dessert options that aren't as heavy.

Citrus Shortcake: Orange Chiffon Cake, Lemon Curd, Mandarins, Whipped Cream, and Citrus Crumble (V)
Even at the time of recording, a festival favourite was turning out to be this little guy!

The Orange Bird sipper cup with Orange Cream Slushy is available from The Citrus Blossom and is going to surely be the hit of the festival.

There are plenty of options for vegetariants such as this fried green tomato dish.
Fried Green Tomatoes with Blue Crab-Fennel Salad, Remoulade, and Smoked Paprika Oil
Another fabulous dessert we salivated at the sound of is available from Northern Bloom - the mouth watering Griddled Maple Pound Cake with Warm Peach Compote and Sweet Corn Gelato featuring Burton’s Maple Syrup.

Again, we are not afraid to try some of the fruitier options so perhaps the Tropical Mousse Cake with layers of passion fruit cake, coconut mousse and a tropical fruit glaze with fresh pineapple from La Isla Fresca.

Or how about the Local Wildflower Honey-mascarpone Cheesecake with Orange Blossom Honey Ice Cream garnished with Fennel Pollen Meringue Kisses and Petite Lavender Shoots from the aptly named The Honey Bee-stro!! Or another savoury option that caught Jayne's eye was the seared tuna.

Chilled Soba Noodle Salad with Pan-seared Tuna and Wasabi Dressing
We end this weeks show with a look at some park reviews and offer some tips as to how to make sure your Disney experience is all that you'd wish it could be.
