Festival of the Arts

This year there are lots of new or re-imagined items. Just like this below - this is the deconstructed key lime pie! Different huh?

We studied the Festival of the Arts menus to come up with the options that are the best to use your snack credits on as well as those items we felt gave the best value.

367 - The Disney Dream Girls Podcast

Welcome to the Disney Dream Girls Podcast, show number 367, for Sunday 27th June 2021. If you want to listen via this page, just click the player below or alternatively find us on iTunes, Libsyn, Stitcher Radio, or any good podcast catching apps.
As well as the usual news and views, we share some details on some easy to acquire WDW dining reservations.

La Hacienda De San Angel Inn - found at the Mexico pavilion at Epcot overlooking World Showcase Lagoon with some very tempting Mexican dishes. Lots of cheesy goodness to tempt the girls this week although the prices may be a little high for some.

Liberty Tree Tavern - moving over to the Magic Kingdom we have a favourite of Michelle's, and at $39 for an 'All-you-care-to-enjoy Bill of Fare', both girls agreed this should be a must-do restaurant.

Oooey Gooey Toffee Cake - Photo credit - Touring Plans

Mama Melrose - next we are at Disney's Hollywood Studios to experience some Italian goodness. The girls were spoilt for choice and may have even debated sharing desserts, but that idea didn't last long.
Chocolate & Cherry Tort Photo Credit - Touring Plans

Tusker House - at Animal Kingdom Tusker House has just re-opened and rather than a buffet option is now offering menu's 'family style' with a great selection of African inspired foods. But the best thing is that for $55 you also get characters as Mickey and friends will come out and see you, all at a safe distance of course.

DDG 231 - Dining on the Disney Cruise Line Remy Review

Welcome to the show notes for the Disney Dream Girls Podcast, show 231 for Sunday 14th October 2018. If you want to listen, whilst reading these notes, just click the player below or alternatively find us in iTunes, Libsyn, on Stitcher Radio or via any good podcast catching app.

On this weeks show, Michelle is joined by fellow podcasters and holiday buddies Kat & Lewis Sutton from Dis Down Under podcast.

Part of Michelle's last trip to Walt Disney World included a week sailing on the Disney Fantasy where she was joined by Kat & Lewis. Here they all reminisce about their dining experience at Remy.

Welcome cocktail
This was a very high end dining experience and one that was enjoyed by all. The experience started with a choice; the french menu or the US menu...oh and don't forget the water menu!!

Water menus - still & sparking of course!
Michelle chose the US menu and experienced everything from langoustine to halibut to pork to beef and chocolate soup!
French or US??

Halibut

Pork

Beef

Chocolate!!!!
And if that wasn't enough the meal started with some 'Amuse Bouche'...
Parsnip & black pepper crisp

Savoury bites - cauliflowe & Foie gras
...and finished with some sweet treats.

The whole experience was topped off with excellent customer service, beautiful surroundings and some wonderful memories.

DDG 230 - The Good, The Pricey and The Snails

Welcome to the show notes for the Disney Dream Girls Podcast, show number 230 for Sunday 7th October 2018. If you want to listen, whilst reading these notes, just click the player below or alternatively find us in iTunes, Libsyn, on Stitcher Radio or via any good podcast catching app.

This week we have some Disney news chat, Ciaran has 'This Week in Disney History' for us and Michelle makes Jayne guess some foodie prices following recent changes in snack option prices.

Michelle then takes us on a gastronomic tour of 'Be Our Guest' restaurant from her recent Walt Disney World vacation.

If dining here you have a few choices of seating and Michelle lets you know where she thinks is best to sit, along with a reminder that the menu here is now 'Fixed Price'.

The menu comprises of a choice of appetisers and entrees but the dessert has only one option; a trio of dessert selection.

Now the question is did Michelle try the escargot? After some convincing from Lewis Sutton along with a little wine her guard was down and this happened...Michelle versus Snails

Here's  a link to the menu for 'Be Our Guest'. Michelle went for the 'assorted meats and cheeses' for her appetiser and then for her entree she decided on filet mignon.

The presentation for the 'Trio of Desserts' was beautifull but was it worth it...best have a listen to see what Michelle thought. The trio consisted of Almond Macaron, Dark Chocolate Truffle and a very small but cute White Chocolate 'Chip' Cup.

So was this dining experience worth the cost? Would Michelle recommend it or would it be better to go for one of the quick service options (but remember to order in advance online to save time!).

Disney Dream Girls 068 - Four Dream Girls, One Disney Filled Show!

Hello and welcome to the show notes for the Disney Dream Girls Podcast for Sunday 25th October 2015.  To listen to the show, we can be subscribed to via iTunes, Stitcher Radio and any podcast catching places. In addition, you can listen direct using this direct player.

This show is filled with Disney! First, we are joined by Sarah (from Skywalking Through Neverland) to discuss Halloween in the parks and our friends at the Earvengers couldn't resist in contributing also!

Then, Sarah shares details about the Downtown Disney event she attended for the Force Awakens trailer preview.

Finally, our princess, Jeanie Gallo joins us to share a menu review from Jock Lindsey's Hangar bar. It is obvious that this will be the place to be at Disney Springs!

The food sounds amazing, the drinks are incredibly creative and very drinkable but what pulls it all together is the fabulous theming.

Jeanie tried three dishes and two different drinks during her visit. For full description, listen to the podcast but below are some of her pictures.
Tanis Tacos

The tacos are a devine Lost City Specialty!  Filled with falafel (traditionally made from chick peas and a great filling vegetarian option), shredded lettuce, and cucumber-tomato salad. For just under $10 they made for a great filling option to have alongside a cocktail.
Squid! Why'd it have to be squid!

The squid is calmari (tentacles not rings) served on a flatbread with a pepper harissa spread, Jeanie highly recommends this dish for its quality and quantity.
Air Pirate's Pretzels

For the sheer fun factor of how this arrives it is worth ordering! It flies to your table, via the fabulously fun staff, and it is a stack of delectable pretzels with perfectly matched dipping sauces.

Obviously, Jeanie wouldn't visit anywhere without sampling the drinks and she recommends the cool-headed monkey!

If you make a visit to Jocks, please let us know your thoughts! And until next week - see you soon!
