402 - From One Disneyland to Another!

Welcome to the Disney Dream Girls Podcast, show number 402 for Sunday 27th March 2022. If you want to listen right now via this page - just click on the audio player below.

To ensure you never miss a show make sure you subscribe to us in your favourite podcast catching app.

On this week's show,  we start by chatting through some Disney history and then move on to some Disney chat.

Our first topic sees us help out listener Amber Nichols with a Disneyland Hotel dilemma. Amber is planning her first trip to California - what top tips would you give her?

After that, we talk a little about Katie Smith's Disneyland Paris trip and the explosion of snacks that are appearing in Disneyland Paris.

Then, we hop back to Disneyland to share some delicious details about Eva Williams Frank's trip to Club 33.

To end the show, we talk about how we can enjoy the parks more as adults rather than families in the theme parks.

One massive part of this - for Michelle - is the ability to Disney bound. Are you a fan of dressing in your own interpretation of a beloved Disney character? We would love to see your outfits.

Michelle is a big fan of Disney bounding and has made her own outfits in the past but also has also bought some. She speaks of a dress she bought from The Disney Store and the sub par quality it was when compared to garments she has made or bought from others.

As mentioned on the show, Michelle is a regular customer of   https://www.queenursulauk.co.uk/ who designs for her own store and prides itself on being incredibly size inclusive.

That's about it for this week! But you can always keep in touch with us via our social media channels.

298 Festivals at Disney

Welcome to the show notes for the Disney Dream Girls Podcast, show number 298 for Sunday 2nd February 2020.  If you want to listen, whilst reading these notes, just click the player below or alternatively find us on iTunesLibsyn, Stitcher Radio or via any good podcast catching app. On this week's show, Michelle and Jayne chat about how a friend had to show resilience in order to get to ride Rise of the Resistance. Then, they talk about Michelle's experience at the Festival of Holidays when she was in Disneyland before finishing the show dreaming about what they would eat at the Festival of the Arts at Walt Disney World.

Festival of Holidays - Disneyland
Over at Disney California Adventure Park, you will find an amazing range of beverages and edibles at the Festival Foods Marketplace. On her trip, Michelle was able to try out a whole range of delicious and not so delicious items. This year, it was possible to order food from any kiosk till and then present your receipt at the appropriate kiosk. This was a major timesaver!
 Reimagined Beef Wellington

Holiday Mickey and Minnie Cookies
Shrimp and Grits with Andouille Sausage
Braised Pork Belly Adobo with Garlic Fried Rice
Churro Toffee and Cold Brew Toffee Crumbles
Hot Cocoa Marshmallow Macaron
S'mores Frozen Chocolate Milk with House-made Toasted Marshmallow-infused Whipped Cream
Festival of the Arts - Walt Disney World
The Festival of the Arts has been taking place at Epcot since 2017 and celebrates 'Art, Entertainment & Food'. The festival runs from January 17th through February 24th.

The girls were of course taken with the food offerings available so just had to share what caught their eyes this year!

So what about some 'deconstructed' dishes...BLT
Or maybe Strawberry Cheesecake?
Then perhaps wander over to Japan for some Taiyaki...cake shaped like a fish?
Or you could try a donut made from sushi?
And it wouldn't be the Festival of Arts without this piece of art inspired cake
But then how about Purple Sweet Potato in a dessert?
Definitely lots here for the girls to discuss. Have you attended? What did you try? We would love to hear!

Disney Dream Girls 251 - Disneyland Food and Wine

Welcome to the show notes for the Disney Dream Girls Podcast, show number 251 for Sunday 10th March 2019.  If you want to listen, whilst reading these notes, just click the player below or alternatively find us in iTunesLibsyn, on Stitcher Radio or via any good podcast catching app.

Coming up on this weeks show, Michelle is joined by fellow podcaster - Tommy Allison and together they talk about Disneyland.

The show begins with a general chat with what's happening over at Disneyland.

Jessie's Critter Carousel
Due to open in April 2019, Disney are currently adding the final finishing touches to the new addition to the Pixar Pier area.
World of Color
Finally, this fan favourite is now back!To ensure a good spot, Disney Dream Girl Podcast Family members suggest considering a dessert package but you can also opt for a meal package. Both of these enable either a guaranteed seat or standing view of the show. However, Fastpasses are available as well as standby and these options are free!

Galaxy's Edge
Post recording the show, opening details were released. However, Tommy shares some details from the press event.
Disneyland's will open 31st May 2019. However, if you are wishing to enter the land between that date and up to the 23rd June 2019, you will need theme park admission PLUS a no-cost reservation for admittance to the land. Details on how to make this reservation have not been released as yet.
Walt Disney World have planned a phased opening with The Millenium Falcon: Smuggler's Run opening on 29th August 2019 and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance opening later in the year.

According to the press details, the capacity for the lands will be limited and access may be restricted or unavailable depending on guest demand or other factors. This applies to whether you have a hotel package, are Disney Vacation Club members or Annual Pass Holders. So the news is - just because you have park entrance it does not mean you will be able to access the land.

Food and Wine Festival
From 1st March through to the 23rd April 2019, this food and drink festival runs in Disney California Adventure.

Tommy recommends purchasing the Sip and Savor Pass as a handway of purchasing your food and drink as it will save you a few $.
Nuts About Cheese

Together, Michelle and Tommy talk through some of the festival highlights and Tommy makes some personal recommendations, based on what his family has tried.
Cream Yoghurt Cheesecake
Whilst the festival is a much smaller even that Walt Disney World's version, the food offerings look amazing. There is such a wide range of things to try.
Jalepino Lime Margarita
Above is the drink Michelle chose for Jayne. However, we all know Jayne loves a good burger (albeit minus the bun) so below is the Petit Impossible Burger, which looks pretty amazing. Lena Allison tried this for us and said it was delicious.
Yum! However, you may wish to try the dessert that Michelle is yearning for - the Black Forest Parfait.
For the absolute foodie,  why not attend one of their special events where a celebrity chef will make a dish as well as guests being able to enjoy a buffet brunch.
So that wraps up this weeks show, we will be back next week with lots more Disney chat!

That's all we have for this week, if you want more Disney Dream Girls chat - why not become a supporter via our Patreon page https://www.patreon.com/DisneyDreamGirls

Disney Dream Girls 208 - Trio of Disney Theme Parks

Welcome to the show notes for the Disney Dream Girls Podcast, show number 208 for Sunday 6th May 2018. If you want to listen, whilst you read these notes, all you have to do is press the green triangle on the audio player below. Alternatively, why not listen via iTunes, Sticher Radio or any podcast catching place!

Coming up on this weeks podcast, we have this week in Disney news, top planning tips for a Disney Trip (mainly focussing on Walt Disney World), a review of everything you need to know about Pixar Fest in the Disneyland Resort and finishing the show with Fan Daze Disneyland Paris chat.

Pixar Fest
Our good friend Tommy Allison (from the Disgeek and Cruise Dudes podcasts) joins Michelle to talk through Pixar Fest.

Both parks at the Disneyland Resort are beautifully and subtely dressed in the red, yellow and blue Pixar colours.
Disneyland is hosting the Pixar Play Parade, which has let go the Anna and Elsa float and replaced it with new Pixar floats. In addition, there is a new firework show with amazing projections to enjoy being shown on to the buildings of Main Street.
Food and drink features heavily in the offerings with new sipper cups and popcorn buckets as well as lots of themed food.
Tommy highly recommends Carnation Cafe to try their 'TV Dinner'.
Meanwhile over in Disney California Adventure, the park has an amazing meet and greet that I am sure everyone will want to get!
Again, there are themed foods and drinks and this week saw the introduction of what is an amazing soft serve, which Tommy says is going to be as big as the Dole Whip! The Pixar Pier speciality parfait has the right amount of tart and sweet to make this a very refreshing snack.

We cover lots more on the podcast so why not give it a listen and if you want to share your pictures or comments why not visit and chat with us on Facebook.
